高空间、老厂房、拥有独特历史文化的loft空间建筑一直是众多艺术家、创意工作者、设计公司、媒体广告等相关创意产业集聚之地。
Spaces with high ceiling, early built factories, LOFT with unique cultures are always the places where artists, design firms, media industry located.
上世纪初因为水上交通便利众多银行家贸易商资本家等在苏州河沿岸建立起金融仓库、贸易码头这里一度成为上海的物流中心。沿苏州河两岸的仓储建筑就是中国最早的民族工业发展的这段历史的记录。昔日，这里曾经有过辉煌和繁荣，而今，这里仍然是上海历史文化的底蕴所在。
Last Century, numerous bankers, merchant,capitalist built warehouses, trade wharf alone Suzhou River and it had become the logistics center of Shanghai because of its transportation.
现在，艺术+文化+创意在这里重新展现，沿苏州河两岸有众多优秀历史建筑，集聚了一批极具历史文化价值的仓库改造项目，如M50\1933\四行仓库等。
At present, both sides of Suzhou River is undergoing Art, Culture and Creation revival . Many historical architectures alone Suzhou River hade been renovated successfully such as M50, the 1933 and Sixing Warehouse.
严培明、刘晓东工作室位于北苏州路和甘肃路交界，隶属于华侨城上海苏河湾，位置优越。建筑前身为上海怡和打包厂，原建于1931年，拥有上述一切条件。
Yan Peiming, Liu Xiaodong Studio located at the intersection of North Suzhou Road and Gansu Road and it falls under the ownership of Overseas Chinese Town. The studio was built in 1931 as Shanghai Yihe Packaging factory.
本建筑共三层，此案位于顶层，顶层拥有独特的景观视野和空间。为了能更好的将苏州河沿岸的风光带入室内我们为建筑坡屋顶的两面开了不同形式的天窗。沿河面做了垂直式的老虎窗形式，能更好的让新加建的阁楼空间与河相望。另一面则开了斜窗更好的将光线引入室内。顶面原封不动的保留了原木制框架结构。
Project is located at the top floor of the three-story building which has distinct viewpoint. We designed two different skylights for abat-vent in order to bring scene of Suzhou River into interior. Also, we designed dormer window vertically so people in LOFT could enjoy the sight of the river closely.
原建筑是开敞式的大平层空间，由于年数较久，很多地方出现安全隐患，我们首先是为建筑进行修缮。原建筑的楼板为木质结构为了满足消防规范拆除了建筑两端的楼板为建筑增加了疏散楼梯，我们将拆掉楼板的木质结构通过再次加工处理用在了建筑的其他装饰上。我们根据不同的使用需求为空间通过墙体进行了划分。经过和两位艺术家讨论后，我们为其分别嵌入了两个生活核心。起居生活发生在核心内，底层空间全部漆成深灰色功能分别为厨房、卫生间、客房、书房。卧室共三间均被安排在了夹层内，通过钢制的楼梯相连，卧室部分的顶面木质结构全部保留。墙面均漆成白色。卧室内部卫生间考虑到建筑坡屋顶两边的高度均做了下沉式处理每一间都分别做了精心的设计。底层大空间则全部作为展览使用。
Originally, the building was opened widely. We repaired certain parts of the old building in case of safety problems. We removed
Wood floor slab on both sides and added emergency staircases to meet the fire protection codes. However, we reused the wood structure that had been dismantled as decoration in the studio. We divided spaced into several parts according to different functions. After discussed with Yan peiming and Liu Xiaodong, we implanted two living zones into the space. Daily life happens within the zones. Lower spaces include Kitchens, bathrooms, guestrooms, study rooms are painted in dark gray. Three white bedrooms are arranged at interlayer and connected by steel stair. All wood structure on ceiling had been preserved. The well designed bathrooms with bedrooms are suspended because the limit of abat-vent. Bottom floor are used as exhibition.
