    当年日本索尼式的心流管理，让他们的产品风靡世界，这个与东方有着千丝万缕联系的概念，却是由一个西方人米哈里·齐克森米哈里(Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi)提出来。

When the renowned Japanese tech company, Sony, first introduced the notion of “flow control” into its working space, the resulting products took the world by storm. Flor, a concept that is so intimately related to traditional Eastern beliefs, was initially developed by Hungarian psychologist, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.

    所谓心流（Flow），指一种几乎是自动的、不须花力气的但又高度集中的感觉状态，心流产生时同时会有高度的兴奋及充实感，涌现出的工作成果充满创意而品质卓著。

Psychologically, flow represents a state of complete and unobstructed absorption. Flow produces a sense of excitement and contentment in the mind, both of which are manifested as originality and quality in the final product.

    如何在设计中帮助团队建立激发心流的环境，之前的愉快合作建立了牢固的信任，巨人网络的主管团队再次找到了在办公室有20多年丰富经验的Ben和Jane。

When looking towards how to create such flow in a working environment, Giant Interactive Group’s senior manager once again went to Ben Goh and Jane Chen, designers whom they have previously worked with and with whom they have established their relationship upon trust and reliance. Both designers come from a background of more than twenty years of corporate office experience.

    巨人网络二期位于具有“迷你硅谷”之称的上海松江巨人园区，面对园区内的绿意盎然的中央花园和大水景。从园区的主入口进入二期大楼，天光跟着脚步走进室内，洁白宽敞的大堂中央嵌入一条10米长的灯带，仿佛一束白色的激光射出，吸引了访客的视线。

Giant Phase Two, otherwise known as the “Mini Silicon Valley,” is located within the Shanghai SongJiang Giant Campus. Directly in front of the Phase Two building is a sweep of landscape filled with greenery. Upon entering the building, a stream of light trails behind in the form of a ten meter-long ribbon of light embedded in the ceiling, leading into an open atrium that has been carved into the middle of the four-story building and culminating in a skylight on top — an invitation for the visitor to gaze at the clouds above.

    对于一个工作环境，光是极为重要的因素。项目中，一层至四层的天井，引进的自然光令这里豁然开朗，作为漫射光线的天空光，些微的淡蓝色让空间更具效率，又有采光面积大，形成的沉浸感。

For a working environment, light is of uttermost importance. This project, which encompasses everything from the ground floor to the skylight on the fourth floor, transforms the space into a lens, lighting up the entire space and creating a space of peace and serenity.

    设计师利用“灰空间”的手法，抹去了建筑外部的界限，使两者成为一个有机的整体。完成后的效果让人惊艳，“令我最满意的，是这个办公空间将室内和室外巧妙连接，我们是网络公司，员工工作时能跟自然有所接触，是很好的一个状态转换。”巨人网络CEO刘伟如是说。

The designers employ the use of “gray space,” blurring the solid boundary between inner space and outer space, allowing the two to merge into a single unit of reality. “What I am happiest about,” Giant’s CEO, Liu Wei, noted, “is how the space serves as a link between the interior and exterior. After all, we are a gaming company, and allowing our employees to be in constant contact with the outside is an encouraging change of environment.”

    在设计之初，设计团队就有明确的想法，做一个与曾经轰动一时的谷歌办公室不同的网络公司，设计创意应该与巨人集团的企业文化融为一体。正如设计师Jane说的：“我们认为在这个项目里，做出游戏公司、企业文化与空间之间淡淡的链接更为合适，而非直接转移。”

When the designing process first began, the team already had a clear idea of how they would proceed with the project. The goal was to create something that shocked the world as the Google office did when it was first introduced while maintaining a singular uniqueness true to the company’s beliefs. Most importantly, the design has to be tailored to suit Giant’s corporate concept. In fact, designer Jane commented that, “we wanted to manifest Giant’s corporate concept in an unpretentious, yet meaningful way.”

    为了实现创意的空间排列和游戏化的场景设计，设计师凭借他们对于美的执念，为理性的他们提供提供给一个感性的空间，在虚拟和现实交错的大胆想法带来了强烈的戏剧效果，设计师把它称为——造梦空间。

In order to create such a sequence of spatial relations that correspond to the present gaming culture, the designers filled this corporate space with marvel and wonder, resulting in a site that is at once fantastical and real — a true virtual reality where ideas can be pulled and shaped from thin air.

    设计师从整体概念之中抽取出几个元素：许多个连接室内外的阳台、空中悬浮的会议室、楼梯穿插、绿树贯通楼层之间，“你会感觉这很魔幻，但其实我们抓住了建筑应有的尺度、办公空间应有的实用性。”

From this overall concept, the designers realized a few elements in the form of open patios, a floating conference room, an intersecting flight of stairs, and a single tree on the second floor that vertically divides the space and just out on the top floor. “Even though this space may seem to be long only in the field of imagination,” Jane continues, “we have designed everything within the boundaries of an office building, allowing the space to be something tangible and familiar to everyone.”

     从动漫中搬出来的大树贯穿楼层魔幻般的存在，暗示了巨人网络的游戏产业的创意性和新奇感。人们可以通过大树来判断自己的所在楼层：树根位于二楼，树干位于三层，看到树冠就说明身处顶层了。

In fact, they have brought the individual pixels of a virtual tree to life in the form of real foliage and bark that fills the space with creativity and novelty. This central tree serves as a landmark. By simply looking at it, anyone in the building can deduce where they are. The roots are on display on the second floor, the stem pierces the third floor, and the treetop blooms on the top floor.

    一架超大楼梯形成垂直交通，直截了当插入空间，贯穿好几层空间。通常楼梯都被隐藏，而在本项目中，楼梯成为一道天梯，可以直接跨上好几层，拾级而上的同时，可以观看整个中庭的风景。

Akin to the tree, a single flight of stairs stretches out horizontally across the space, penetrating walls and dividing floors. Usually, staircases are hidden away and out of reach. Yet, here, the staircase becomes something much more than that. Like a skywalk, it hangs suspended alongside the different floors of the building on full display. With each step one takes, the entire view shifts underneath and a new reality is introduced.

    一层设有咖啡厅中片刻休息的人与楼上的人形成互看，彼此成为风景。在一层大堂反观长在“屋顶”上的树，亦然有着这种戏剧性的效果就仿佛置身于游戏中虚虚实实。

On the first floor, a cafe serves as a resting area. However, rather than being an area secluded from the rest of the building, it is a place that allows everyone’s presence in the office to be noted and acknowledged. Those traversing on the floors above simply become a part of a greater landscape when viewed from within the cafe. Looking up at the arching tree above, one cannot help but wonder whether all this is truly real.

    在中庭中，外跨出空中悬浮的会议室的创意也是设计师的独创，这也是基于对与员工工作环境的分析：巨人网络主要由一群平均年龄不超过35岁的“码农”组成，每天盯着屏幕写程序，怎样让程序员们从大量繁复的程序代码中抽离出来，偶尔的放空，成了本真最关注的课题。

In the middle of the atrium is a floating conference room, another original concept made specifically with Giant’s employees in mind. The average person working at Giant is a computer geek not over thirty-five. Their day to day activity is unchanging: they sit in front of computer screens and type out long sequences of coding all day. Now, right beyond their screens, lies a vast stretch of space that frees their minds from the numerical constraints in front of them.

    悬置的会议室仿佛空中楼阁，让实体悬浮在空中，缥缈感得以建立。会议室中都设有休闲家具供人交流放松，巧妙的立面构成，使每个角度都宛如取景框内的画。巨大的空间将中庭区域打造成了整个项目视觉的焦点，也令室外硬朗的建筑变的柔软。

The floating conference room is analogous to a castle in the clouds. The pockets of space surrounding this hanging castle become individual islands, each area a picture frame. All points of view in the building lead to this central area, and what was once a looming building is now transformed into something enchanting and inviting.

    设计采用了象牙白高光漆板，绿色的地毯，以浅色的自然木纹为主要材料，局部略有色彩的变化，使整个室内设计达到简洁、明亮、通透的感觉，空间被巧妙的划分，又于一定程度上让人们看到了设计者对节奏的把握。

The design is centered around ivory lacquer panels, green carpets, and lightly-colored wood patterns as its themes, while certain details vary more in color, making the interior clean, bright, and transparent. The space is carefully divided into compartments that ripple rhythmically throughout the building.

    设计展现的不仅是装饰，更多的是人与空间的情感融合。在一层侧入口，一幅由巨人集团每个人组成的Gaint墙，给人一种高山仰止的视觉冲击，意予着每个人都是公司的巨人。

Design isn’t simply about decoration, it is more importantly about the interaction between people and spaces. On the ground floor by the entrance is a wall made up of people who make up Giant, each individual a towering and unwavering figure.

    同时Giant墙背面设计师设计了艺术展厅，在这里，人们可以社交、品味艺术、甚至是阅读，这种“启发性”的空间让设计得以实现最本源的价值。

Behind the wall is an art gallery where people can socialize, appreciate art, and relax. This room inspires, and by simply doing that, it retains the most fundamental meaning of design.

    今天的办公室设计，需要考虑的不单是功能的满足，现代主义提出的形式服从功能成了入门级的标准，而是心理层面上，如何创造有趣的空间而不会“荒于嬉”，同时保持高效而不焦虑，应该被定义为新的标准。

When designing an office space today, efficiency and organization are simply the most basic principles to keep in mind. From a psychological point of view, designing and office is about creating a space that is interesting but not theatrical, efficient but not dreary. This is the new standard. 

    在一个空间中，创造沉浸感和幸福的体验感，利于在团队工作中形成心流，激发人的创新意识和工作活力，专注当下成就现在，本真的设计师为创意办公室设计再次树立了标杆。

In creating such a space, flow becomes a more attainable state of mind and can stimulate each and every worker’s creativity, allowing them to focus on the here and now. The designers of BNJN have once again raised the bar for what design means.
