早在一千六百多年前的东晋，会稽“市长”王羲之，邀请几十位全国贵族名流，来到当时可与长安匹敌的中国经济文化时尚中心会稽郡，相聚于山阴城“兰亭”，曲水流觞，饮酒赋诗，酣畅淋漓，尽显魏晋士人的旷达、清雅、飘逸和洒脱。三十七篇即兴诗文被编成诗集，而王羲之乘兴挥书、一气呵成的《兰亭集序》更成为千古流传的佳作。从此，兰亭集会成为中国古代文人雅集的经典范式，也成为一种经久不衰的文化时尚。

Over 1600 years ago, during the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the“mayor”of Kuaiji, Wang Xizhi, invited dozens of noble celebrities to this economic and cultural center – (comparable to Chang’an at the time). They gathered at “Lanting” - The Orchid Pavilion to enjoy the canal and drinks. The most famous Anthology of Poetry - The Lantingji Xu (literally: "Preface to the Poems Collected from the Orchid Pavilion") comprised of 37 poems by Wang was created at this time. Since then Lanting gathering has become a classic and ongoing cultural and fashionable event for Chinese ancient literati.

        千百年来，时代几经变迁，科技飞速发展，城市高度文明。如今的我们，不再耗时数天千里迢迢就可轻松地对谈相聚，不再被国家/地域/文化界限束缚而世界相通相融，也不再用诗词歌赋的传统方式来直抒胸臆……一切都在不断地发展变化，但有一种无形的东西一直在影响和守护着我们的内心，那就是对文化、艺术、美好与自由的永恒追求。

Over hundreds and thousands of years, technology and civilizations has developed rapidly. We do not need to travel thousands of miles to chat with each other these days. We are connected to the world without boundaries of nations, locations and cultures. We do not need to express our feelings through traditional poems. Everything is continuously developing and evolving, but we are influenced and protected by something invisible; which is the pursuit of culture, art, wellbeing and freedom.

        金尚SHANG的创始人、设计者Lilian Tian，她戏称自己是金尚的“市长”，或许是出于这种“文化崇尚”的中国文人传统，她特别选择和邀请那些平时带给她设计灵感、给予她精神鼓励的七位全球文化创意者来设计7SHANG。他们是：修鲁恪Luke Hughes、伍仲匡Ed Ng、安东Antonio Ochoa、花如墨Romer Valera、秋微Qiu Wei、段妍玲Yanling Duan、巫娜Wu Na。

The founder and designer of SHANG, Lilian Tian, jokingly calls herself the “Mayor”of SHANG. Out of respect and advocacy for culture, she specifically selected and invited 7 of those international culture creatives who inspired her and spiritually supported her to design 7SHANG. These 7 are; Luke Hughes, Ed Ng, Antonio Ochoa, Romer Valera, Qiu Wei, Yanling Duan, and Wu Na.

        七位全球文化创意者，欣然接受了这份特别的邀请，并相聚于金尚SHANG，他们在顶层空间用不同的文化观念、生活经历和设计语言，“书写”其对酒店与生活的独特理解和表达，共同打造了充满故事与文化内涵的7SHANG。以此献给北京这座文化时尚之都，献给工作、生活、旅行在这座城市的全球公民。

These 7 creatives accepted the invitation and gathered at SHANG. They used different concepts, life experiences and design languages to express their unique understanding of hotel and life on the top floor of SHANG and created 7SHANG enriched with stories and cultural connotation, so as to present to Beijing – a culture and fashion capital, also to global citizens who work, live and travel in this city.

       这个广阔的世界，因不同的个性、不同的想法而丰富精彩。7SHANG不希望每间房间都是一样的，也不希望过度渲染设计的巧妙惊艳或装饰的精致华丽，因为人与生活才是房间的主角；同时，7SHANG希望房间能更具真实的个人色彩，在物理空间需求之外，去更多地传达一种生活方式或人生态度。俗话说“字如其人，文如其人”，也可谓“房如其人”。

We live in a diversified world with people who have different personalities and thoughts. Each room at 7SHANG is different, without being glamorous and fancy, showcasing that people and life are the most important elements in the room. At the same time, 7SHANG conveys a lifestyle and an attitude towards life with small personal touches. There is a saying that goes “the writing style represents the author”, here at 7SHANG,“the room design represents the designer”.

        一花一世界，一叶一菩提，一间房也就是一个世界。七位全球文化创意者，每隔一段时间旅行归来后，都会在自己设计的7SAHNG房间里小住，并根据自己那段时间的感悟或变化，去调整房间的布置或更换一些物品，如最近在读的一本好书或最近在听的音乐专辑，或旅行中偶遇的美物好物......试图通过这种特别的方式，与大家分享自己的思想、经历、兴趣和信仰。

A room is a world. Every once in a while, these 7 creatives will come and stay at 7SHANG for some time after traveling, and they will adjust the settings and decorations in their rooms. For example, they would share a book they have been reading, or music they have been listening to, or fine things they have encountered during traveling recently, so as to share their thoughts, experiences, interests and beliefs.

       虽然每个人拥有不同的文化、地域和教育背景，拥有不同的生活经历、个性特点、思想观念，但因热爱生活、文化和创意这一共同点而走到了一起。这也正是金尚SHANG想要带给全球公民的相遇相知，让行业迥异但价值追求一致的人们聚集在一起，有机形成独特的社区文化，并激发相互间更多的创意与创造。

Everyone comes from a different cultural, regional and educational background with different life experiences, personalities, thoughts and concepts. Because of the passion for life, culture and creativity, they come together. This is also a message that SHANG wants to deliver to global citizens, gathering people with same values from various fields to create an organic community for more inspirational creativity.

7Rooms/7People/7Stories, we have created 7 unique small worlds in the infinite universe to listen and feel, at the same time, look forward to meeting and knowing each other.
