屋主一家原本居住于新北市的老旧公寓，因为孩子长大了，需要更大的生活空间，于是他们卖掉了旧公寓，到桃园买了一间刚完成一年的2层半住宅，在一个因缘际会下找到我们，开始了这一个改建计画。

        原本的结构体屋主舍不得拆除，希望用增建改造的方式来进行，对比拆除重建来说，以现有结构体进行整体评估改建，是比较复杂且难度更高的，除了必须保留的结构，其余部分皆须拆除，也因此我们将内部格局依使用者需求调整，在增建时做一个整体规划。

        重新审视检讨建筑物本身的结构承受力后，我们采取增建并做结构补强的方式，让原本为二层半的建筑物，摇身一变为4层楼的住宅，同时在外观设计上以清水混凝土、线条俐落的铁件、墨色玻璃、木头等元素呈现出现代建筑的语汇。

        拾级而上来到二楼，设定为单层主卧室，我们为屋主设计了一个专属前阳台，做为室内外的中介，后半部则设定为卫浴，同时也给予它一个可走出外部的后阳台。

        四楼设定为孩子们的空间，前段空间分配给男孩使用，为呼应他的身高体型，我们为他量身订制了加长的床架及加高的书桌，经过走廊来到女孩房，规划了专属更衣室以及衣柜，满足了她的想望。
