        伟大的城市总是吸引着有雄心壮志的人，有些城市因此成为了某种远大理想的聚集地，这样的城市通过许多不同的方式，时时向人们传递着不同的信息，吸引着更多志同道合的人随之而来。

        建筑前身是1907年开业的纽约第三家Mills酒店，15层大楼由美国著名银行家及慈善家厄斯·奥格登·米尔斯（Darius Ogden Mills）建造，曾经一度是那些追求“美国梦”的人们的临时居所。

On October 21, 1907 the third Mills Hotel opened in New York City. Darius Ogden Mills built the 15-story hotel for men who were chasing the American Dream in New York City. 

        改造后的酒店建筑由著名的Stonehill & Taylor操刀；餐厅集合了Rockwell Group与TAO Group共同创意；而公共空间及客房则力邀Yabu Pushelberg倾力演绎。以其最负盛名的折中理念为索引，为室内带来了极强的可塑性及灵活性。

With bedrooms and public spaces designed by Yabu Pushelberg and dining venues designed by Rockwell Group and operated by TAO Group, the brashly experiential 612-room hotel boasts a wide variety of room types and flexible meeting spaces. 

        “幽默”、“大胆”、“意气风发”，这是对9月开业的全球第15家Moxy酒店最好的诠释。2014年宜家携手万豪酒店集团合力开启了第一家位于米兰的Moxy酒店，品牌瞄准千禧一代，设计充满着新鲜与活力。

Playful. Bold. Spirited. Moxy Times Square offers an energetic alternative to the typical hotel experience in the city that never sleeps. 

        爱因斯坦曾在《相对论》中提及四维空间概念，其实设计亦是一个多维呈现的存在。Yabu善于赋予空间复杂性和创意智慧，并以此激发到访者的共鸣。

        公共空间集工艺、功能、优良材料和深思熟虑设计细节于一体，混凝土抛光地面、古旧砖墙、开敞式天花等，这一切似乎都在表达现代，细品之后，却能从中感受到那些对于‘过往’的回望。

Moxy Times Square’s style is built on a foundation of craftsmanship, functionality, honest materials, and thoughtful details. Polished concrete floors, exposed concrete columns, distressed brick walls, open ceilings, and beautiful millwork marry original historic elements with fresh and refined finishes. Communal public spaces are multipurpose, flexible, reconfigurable, and furnished with an eclectic mix of bespoke Yabu Pushelberg–designed leather and canvas furniture.

        “当今旅客所寻求的，更多是一种价格相宜、充分运用现代高科技的体验，但是他们往往忽略了情感的传递以及文化的厚重，我们希望能为千禧一代旅客重塑经济旅游的定义。”万豪国际集团欧洲区总裁Amy Mc Pherson说。

        一座城市的活力自然会感染来远道而来的宾客，但一处有内容的设计则可以让这种‘感染’来的更深刻、丰富，就像雅布笔下的Moxy。用“年轻”、“嬉皮士”的独特文化传达“不亦说乎”之感，背后是汹涌澎湃的人文力量。

        Moxy酒吧仿佛是被黄铜包裹的伊甸园，天窗引进的自然光令这里豁然开朗。此外，不同的色彩与线性架构一道，对空间进行了巧妙划分，又于一定程度上让人们看到了设计者对节奏的把握。

A large copper-wrapped bar anchors the second floor, underneath a dramatic, triple-height atrium skylight that floods the space with natural light. Walls are clad in blue-stained wood; glass partitioning with copper mullions divides the bar and lounge from the grab-and-go area, The Pickup, and extends overhead into the skylight above.

        另外值得一提的是，酒店拥有纽约市最大的室内外一体化屋顶酒廊Magic Hour Rooftop& Lounge，设计公司TAO Group的“城市消遣公园”概念捕捉了对成人需求的敏感度，在这里可以观赏到有如史诗般帝国大厦的天际线。

New York City’s largest indoor/outdoor hotel rooftop lounge and bar features an “urban amusement park” concept with an adult sensibility and offers epic Empire State Building skyline views. 

        空间的特色包括旋转座椅、大尺寸修剪成形的花园以及迷你高尔夫球场。足可以假乱真的动物，摆着妖娆的姿态，给人以触动想要上前窥探一番。

Highlights of the venue include carousel seating, an oversized topiary garden, and Foreplay, a miniature putt-putt, designed by TAO Group, featuring life-size animals in flirty poses. 

        “我们愿意尝试为更多有才华的创意者进行设计，不同的受众人群给我带来了新鲜感，这是一个令人兴奋的过程”，Yabu说。

       诚然，设计可以为空间增加更多可能性，也赋予了宾客一种探险体验，这里的每一个细节都是对生活的影射，当它被体验、被理解之时，一种更好的生活方式也正在萌生。

        酒店拥有612间客房，多种户型可满足不同客人的需求。其灵感来源于轮船客舱，为热爱露营或者野营的青年旅客增添了几分亲切感。

612 bedrooms are outfitted with comfortable beds, oversized walk-in rain showers and clever built-in design features that create a flexible and adaptable guest experience. Yabu Pushelberg–designed custom furniture includes tables, chairs, and stools that can be folded up and hung on a wall-peg system around the room’s perimeter. 

        和其他空间一样，客房依然“从简”，似乎是为了印证设计可以攻克“小空间”与“时尚”结合的难题。在保证“舒适”、“整洁”的同时，他们将自然引入其中，并实现了独特的创意美学向往：一半乡村、一半前卫。

        此外，凭借对材料及形式的熟稔把握，他们配置了多功能模块化可折叠的家具，进入者可以自行定制自己的生活，从而塑造一次难忘的体验。

        就像雨果所说：“人类所需要的，是富有启发性的养料。”酒店对于当下的青年旅客来讲并不仅是留宿、用餐之所，在这里，人们可以社交、品味艺术、甚至是阅读，这种“启发性”的空间让设计得以实现最本源的价值。
